All recovered!

Good Afternoon,

As I mentioned last week, it was my Hen Night on Saturday.  Me and the other hens went cocktail making and it was an 80's theme.  I think everybody had a good time, I know I had a fab time.  A big thanks to my Sister Gayle and my friend Suz for organising such a good night!

Now that I am all recovered, I am able to get back on with a bit of crafting.  I bit of a later submission than normal for me into this weeks 'Less Is More' challenge.  This week Chrissie & Mandi have provided us with a sketch to follow.

This was my second attempt at this card, here is the first.

Once I had made up the card, I just felt that the coloured squares were too big for this weeks challenge, but I still like the card so thought I would share it with you anyway.

Here is the sketch that we were to follow, my sentiment is off centre but hopefully that will not disqualify me.

I have also decided to enter my card into this weeks challenge at CAS-ual Fridays, the theme this week is to feature flowers or trees.

Now that I have completed my card for this weeks challenge, I have three subway art canvases to make, so better get cracking.

Hope you all had a nice weekend.

Funky Hand News!

Anice over at Funky Hand has annonced a call for new Design Team members (you can find the details here)

I regularly take part in the monthly challenge over at Get Funky (been lucky enough to win a couple of times) and own a number of the CD's so I thought I would be brave and put my name forward to join the Design Gang.

As part of entering you have to put up some of work, which you are most proud of! Not a task I have found easy, so the OH, Mum and a friend have been drafted in to help me pick some.  Here is what we narrowed it down to!

A bit more than a couple of cards, but I really struggled to narrow it down even further.

Thanks for the opportunity Anice. Will keep my fingers crossed.

Another rainy day

Good Evening All,

I am sick of seeing rain, I don't think we have had a rain free day for over a week now.  No chance of there being a hosepipe ban in the North East of Scotland thats for sure.

Got a bit of my card making mojo back today, I downloaded the digi stamp used for my card about a month back and have never gotten round to using it.  So today it had its first outing.

I made the unusal choice for me and did not mat my image, I just felt the white against the purple and kraft made the image pop even more.

Supplies Used:
Crafts Meow - Free digi stamp
ProMarkers
Kraft cardstock
SEI - Bridgeport Backing papers
Anitas Gems
Ribbbon from my stash
Corner Chomper

Paper Bow

Good Morning,

Apologises again for my lack of posts at the moment, wedding and work is taking over my life right now.  Along with that I seem to have lost my card making mojo! But last night I was having a look online at paper folding techniques (need to make boxes for the wedding favours) and fold this tutorial on making a paper bow!  Now I am not the best at tying normal bows so that I would give a paper bow a try.

Sorry for the rubbish picture, couldnt get any decent light!
 Supplies Used:
Docrafts Fairytale Paper for the bow
Everything else is from my snippet and stash box

Challenges entered:
Less Is More - Week 64

I have my hen night this weekend and have my future inlaws coming to stay, so don't think I will be getting much crafting done this week due to getting the house in order, however will post my makes if I manage to sneek away for a crafting session.

Zentangle

Good Evening,

Can't list the supplies on this card as it was just my black pen and my doodles.

Doodling

Good Afternoon,

Time again for another challenge with Chrissie and Mandi at Less Is More and this weeks challenge is doodling, so our card has to have something on it drawn by hand.  Now I cannot draw to save myself so my doodling falls into the simple category.

As you can see I have drawn some lines on some of the flowers.  This is adventurous as I can get with drawing I'm afraid.

Supplies Used
Hobbycraft Flower Stamp (does not have a name)
Versamark Watermark ink
Wow embossing powder
Best Wishes Stamp (free with a magazine)

I might try something else more complex during the week, but for the moment this is the best you are going to get.

Good Evening All,

Its been a little while since I have taken part in the Passion For ProMarkers challenge, but this week they have chosen one of my favourite type of cards.... White on White.  Although it can be challenging to come up with a WoW card, if done right the effect can be stunning!

More Green

Good Afternoon,

I thought I would have another go at the Less Is More challenge.  As I said in my previous post the challenge this week is '3 shades of green'.  I liked the layout of my last card but decided to create a more subtle card this time.

Supplies Used:
Papermania - 'Birdsong' Stamp set
Colour box Cat's eyes - Olive, Pheasent Gold and Fresh Green
Ribbon from my stash

A lazy evening for us tonight, I hope you all have either something exciting or relaxing planned for your Saturday night.

Three Shades of Green

Good Morning,

It's that time of the week again when Chrissie and Mandi over at Less Is More set another challenge.  This week is a really tough one for me.  Its a colour challenge, they have picked Green and we have to use 3 shades.  Green is not my favourite colour by a long shot but I haven't missed a week since I started blogging and I am not going to let a little thing like the colour green defeat me!

Supplies Used:
Colourbox Cat's Eyes - Apple Green, Fresh Green and Lime Pastel
Fiskars - Circle of Fun stamp
Glossy Accents
Buttons - Trimits

We had a lovely meal out with friends last night, but it was a bit of a late one, so I think it is going to be a lazy day today.  Might manage to squeeze in a trip to the gym and maybe another card later on though.

Paper Lanterns

A bit late for the Chinese new year, but I just got this new Lili of the Valley stamp in the post today and couldn't wait to have a play about with it.

I decided to use the layout over at Freshly Made Sketches as I really wasn't very happy with my first attempt at the challenge.  I have compressed the sketch, but I felt that it suited the card better, hopefully that is within the challenge rules.

Lili of the Valley - Paper Lanterns
ProMarkers
Funky Hand backing paper (its actually a xmas paper, but I think it looks like little lanterns...shhh!)
Martha Stewart Scallop punch
Ribbon from my stash

Time for me to stop playing about with my crafting goodies and start trying to make myself look presentable for going out this evening.

Tufted Card

Good Afternoon,

The sun is finally shining here and our  dumping of snow last night is beginning to melt away.

I promised to be back later on with a card and here I am.  I really like the current trend for tufted furniture and used that as inspiration for my latest card.

Everything I used for this card was from my stash box, so I can't give you a list however I am sure it is fairly self explanatory.

I am entering this card into 2 challenges, Pixies Crafty Workshop - Snippet Challenge and St Lukes Charity Cards Challenge.

Hope you are all having a nice day

Catching Up

Good Afternoon,

What a cold miserable day it is here today, I really hope last weeks great weather isn't our summer!

Normally on a Sunday I create a card to join in with Di and the other playmates for the snippet challenge, however time got away from me so I am a day late in posting this.

I recently bought some ink dusters and wanted to try out the emboss resist technique.  Now my attempt is far from perfect, but I LOVE the effect, so don't be surprised to see a few more cards cropping up with this effect on them.

Supplies Used:
Stampendous - Agapanthus Cluster
Versamark 'watermark' ink
Clear embossing powder
Tim Holtz - Tattered Rose Distress Ink
All card and ribbon was from my snippet box

Challenges Entered:
Pixies Crafty Workshop - Snippet Challenge
Less Is More  - Week 61

I have entered this card into the challenge over at Less Is More, however I might be stretching the colour scheme a bit, a little bit too much grey and not the right colour pink???
