Baby Blanket

Good Afternoon,

Another rainy day here in Aberdeenshire.  I am so sick of this weather and I really hope it drys up soon as I am getting married on Saturday! Eeeek how did that come round so quickly! I finally feel organised today, so decided to have a play about in my craft room today. I have bought lots of new stamps lately and haven't had a chance to play with them yet.

Here is my first creation for the day.....

Supplies Used:
Lili of the Valley - Baby Blanket
Dovecraft papers
ProMarkers
Ribbn from my stash
Sizzix embossing folder
Sentiment - Computer generated
Corner Chomper

Challenges Entered:
Less Is More - Paper Piecing
CAS-ual Fridays - Pink

Now that I see the picture above I wished I had coloured the blanket a different colour, but it looks more of a contrast IRL!

Away to make a start on another card.

Hope you  are all having a nice weekend

Has the mojo returned?

Stampendous - Fresh Bloom
Embossing powder
Versamark
Alcohol ink
Glossy Accents
Papermania vellum
Stampin Up - Sincere Salutations

Something Shiny

Good Afternoon,

Another week has past without me being able to join in my usual card challenges.  However as always I like to take part in Less Is More. I apologise that I haven't had time to see what wonderful creations you have all come up with, but normal blogging service will resume in the next few weeks.

This weeks challenge really threw me. It was a use something shiny. Now I love a bit of sparkle on my cards, but something shiny was difficult.  In the end this is what I came up with.

Supplies Used:
Mirri card
Sizzix dots embossing folder
Butterfly die from Sizzix stamp and die set
Funky Hand stamp

Must dash off now and for a change it isn't to any wedding stuff, I have my Mum & Dad coming round for Fathers Day so have to get the food prepared.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend

Cloudy Sky

Good Morning,

Another week of neglecting blogland.  I swear once I am a married woman I will be back to keeping on top of my blog. I am actually missing making cards, but time is not allowing me to do that at the moment.

But since I have never missed a challenge at Less Is More since I started my blog, I am creating time to make a entry every week.

This weeks challenge is a one layer card and to use a flourish, unfortunately my card didn't come out quite as  I had planned but I thought I would share it anyway and I will go back to the drawing board.

Supplies Used:
Mind Minds Eye - Lost & Found stamp
Versamark
Clear embossing powder
Distress Ink
Ink Dusters

I thought the stamp looked liked clouds, so I was aiming for a pretty cloudy sky, but its ended up looking like a stormy sky, no sure who you would give a card with a stormy sky too, probably somebody you didn't like!

Anyway away back to the drawing board

Red, Blue & White

This weeks challenge over at Less Is More is to use the colours Red, Blue & White.  Since it was the Jubilee weekend I have decided to go all patriotic and make a card using the national flag.

Supplies Used:
Pink Petticoat image
Nestabilities
Glossy Accents

I couldn't think of a sentiment to add to the card so I just scored some lines on instead.

Hope you have all had a nice Jubilee weekend, back to normality tomorrow.

Put a bling on it!

This weeks challenge over at CAS-ual Fridays they are looking for a creation with a bit of sparkle to it! Now with my Blogs name there was no way I was going to resist this one.

Supplies Used:
Fiskars star punch
Anita Gems
Glossy Accents
Stampin Up - Sincere Salutations
Gold glitter embossing powder
Foam dimensional pads

Apologises for the poor picture, I must have tried every room in the house before I could get a half decent one and even then the glossy accents in the middle of star was showing up funny, so this was the best I could get.  The star and the top layer of card on on dimensional stickers but don't think you can see this so well in the photo.

Hope you are all having a nice weekend.

Scrapling

Now what is a scrapling I hear you ask, well I asked the same thing this morning when I seen this weeks challenge over at The Friday Mashup, well here is their explanation.

A scrapling is a little card, notecard, or tag that you would make out of the scraps that are left from your card stock after making a square card. What do I mean? If you started with an A2 card base, 4-1/4 x 5-1/2", and then cut it down to make a 4-1/4" square card, there would be a 1-1/4 x 4-1/4" base left. That's the starting point for your scrapling. It could also be 1-1/2 x 4-1/4", if you had made a 4 x 4" square card previously.

I make quite a lot of square cards so have loads of these scraplings lying around, noramlly I use them so stamping sentiments on, but today I have used them to join in this weeks challenge.

The mashup this week is to make a scrapling card from scraps (or snippets as I call them). So can't really list my supplies as it all came out of the snippet drawer.  However the butterflies are made using the sizzix Beautiful Wings embosslit.

I am also entering this card into Pixies Snippet Challenge

It's a long weekend coming up for us this weekend, its the Queen's Jubilee, so not back to work until Wednesday next week! Wooooo hoooo.  Hopefully will manage to get lots of wedding prep done and maybe hit the shops, fingers crossed it will be nice and quiet as most people will be home watching the Jubilee events on the tv.

Hope you all have a nice weekend.
