Christmas Card Wreath Holder

Hello,

I promised earlier on today to post something I had been working on. Every year I try and find a good way to displaying my Christmas cards, but they normally end up blue tacked onto my living room door.   After seeing all the various wreaths on Pinterest I used that as my inspiration.

Using pipe insulation, from my local hardware store, I created my wreath shape by duct taping the ends together.

I also added my ribbon at this point but that was a really stupid idea, so wait until the end to do it.

Next I used my Christmas fabric to wrap round the foam, using my glue gun to hold it in place, and kept wrapping until it was completely covered.  I did this for all 3 wreaths.  

At this point I should have added my ribbon to join the 3 together.  I used my glue gun again to form loops in the ribbons and glue them to the wreaths for extra stability.  

Finally I glued on my wooden clothes pegs, I added approximately 20 per wreath and are arranged them in a combination of facing inwards and outwards so I can make full use of the space round the wreath.

After this all I had to do was hang them on my over door hook and attached some Christmas cards.  If you look closely you might be able to see some of the cards I have been working on.

I hope you like this idea, and if anybody decides to make one themselves, I would love to see your take on it.

I also follow the wonderful Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge.  This weeks challenge is 'Christmas' so I thought this would be a suitable submission.

Bonfire Night 2011

Good Morning everybody,

I hope you all had a good Bonfire Night. My future in-laws were down visiting for the weekend so we headed off to go and see the local Bonfire and firework display.

The firework display was amazing and a big thank you goes out to the 'Roundtable Inverurie' for their organisation and hosting the eventful. I am sure I can speak for everybody when I say it was a fantastic night.

Will be back later on tonight with a project I am working on.

Mel Jen's Design Challenge 83

Good Morning,

Today I have decided to join in on the challenge over at Mel Jen's Designs, the challenge this week was 'Use Brads'.  I love the designs on the website, so thought I would join in the fun.  This card was made using Sizzix embossing folder for the sentiment and Martha Stewart 'Stamp around the Page' for the snow flake background.  I am really pleased with the effect from the SATP, it works well for creating your own backgrounds and borders without having to use patterned paper.  As Brads were the challenge, my 2 red stars have been included.  I am not sure where these came from but I have a number of them in my stash.

Anyway below is the card and I hope you like it.

"Less is More" Challenge

First time posting on this blog, so I thought I would show you what I made for it.  The theme was 'stars' so I thought this 'My Minds Eye' Snowed in paper would be perfect.  Love the idea of this blog so I am sure I will be creating something again for them in the near future.

What I'm working on

As promised here is some pictures of things I have been working on.  As Christmas will be here before we know it, I have made a start on the nearest and dearest's cards.

This first one is for my sister and her new husband of 1 month.

Never quite noticed how those last two pics positioned until I previewed it! 

This card was made using plain white cardstock, a digi stamp from DigiStamp Boutique, coloured in with my promarkers and finally some cord and sparkle I found in my stash! 

The next picture is for my future Sister in Law. I am so glad we just have sisters, boys cards are so difficult to make for!  The items used to make this card is the same as above.  

I hope you like the cards I have made, please feel free to leave any comments.  I would appreciate any feedback, good or bad.

Day One!

Wow, my first day blogging.  Not sure why I decided today to try this out but here I am.  After about a year of following various craft blogs and becoming addicted to Pinterest (who isn't) I have decided to start my own blog. 

Where to begin, well I live in the North-East of Scotland and am 28 years old, I discovered my love of all things craft about 18 months ago and have been hooked ever since.  My aims of the blog is to both have a detailed record of my ideas and work and to also share my ideas to everybody out there as I know how well other blogs have inspired me. So thank you to all my 'muses'.

As we are now in November, I am sure like most of you, I am well into my Christmas craft ideas.  At the moment I am working on a collection of Christmas cards, a christmas card holder and my handmade presents. 

I will come back later on and post some pics of things I am working on.
