Less Is More - Week 61

Good Morning,

Hasn't this past week just been great, sunshine everyday!  Think the weather is about to take a turn for the worst this weekend, but it has been nice while it lasted.

Now over to my entry into the weekly Less Is More challenge, this week is 'Lucky Dip' so there is a guest designer.

There has been a lot of cards floating about blogs this past couple of weeks using the promarkers colour graduation method.  I have never tried this myself so decided to give it a go.

I scored some lines over my colour panel just to add some extra texture, not sure how well it has shown up in the pictures.

Supplies Used:
ProMarkers (from top - Leaf Green, Soft Green, Tea Green, Almond, Pale Pink, Rose Pink)
Doodlebug brad
Prima Flowers
Papermania 'BirdSong' stamp for the sentiment.

Away to nip into Aberdeen today, my poor phone has broken so away to look for a replacement.

Hope you all have a nice weekend.

Stampin Up paper

Bad Hair Day

Good Evening,

Today's card features one of the great Saturated Canary images 'Frizzy Jynx'.  As soon as I seen the image I knew I had to have it, her hair reminds me of my birds nest hair first thing in the morning.  By the time I have tackled it with my hair straighteners (best invention ever) I can finally leave the house.

Cocktails!!

Good Morning

Hope you are all having a relaxing weekend, I ended up having a fairly busy Saturday and never got to make a start on my card for the Less Is More challenge.  As it turned out I needed the extra day to think about that I was going to do.  I thought Chrissie & Mandi had set a difficult challenge last week but this week has taken the biscuit, (well for me anyway).  This weeks challenge is 'Script' so the card is to include text of any kind in addition to any sentiment.

Arrrghhh I don't know if I was being dumb, blonde, having crafter block or all three but I just couldn't think what to make.  And to top it all off it had to be a one layer card, so no double sided sticky tape in sight! Anyway the idea came to me this morning and this is what I ended up with.

Supplies Used:
Whimsie Doodles - Margarita Digi Stamp
ProMarkers
Glossy Accents
Recipe found online and typed into word.

Not sure why I was thinking about cocktails this morning, I promise I don't have any sort of drink problem, maybe because I have been on taxi duty all weekend I have missed my Friday night glass of wine!

Now that I have finally got my card sorted I can nip over and see what other wonderful creations everybody else has made.  I'm sure everybody else has found this challenge simple and have thought up some great ideas!

Congratulations Suz

Good Morning,

My good friend Suz texted me the other day to tell me that she passed her driving theory test.   Suz has been putting off doing her driving test since she was 17, so for her to get to this stage is amazing!  Her aim is to pass her test before she is 30 so she has until August to achieve her goal.  I am so chuffed for her, so decided to make her a little card to say congratulations.

Supplies Used:
Scrapbook Sisters - Car 5 digistamp
ProMarkers
Funky Hand papers
Sizzix texture folder
Glossy Accents
Ribbon & buttons from my stash

Challenges Entered:
Card Patterns Weekly Sketch Blog

So glad its Friday, hope you all have a nice weekend planned.

Sweet Surprise

Good Morning,

Just a quick update from my WOYWW yesterday.  I gave a sneek peek of a card I was working on.  Well last night I managed to get it finished so time for the grand unveiling!

Supplies Used:
Penny Black 'Sweet Surprise'
ProMarkers
Backing paper (polka dots)- Papermania
Backing papers - Pink Petticoat 'Swirls & Curls'
Anita Gems
Glossy Accents
Stickles
Zipper - Plain white zipper coloured using my ProMarkers and then glued to form the flower

Challenges Entered:
Passion For ProMarkers - 'For Mum/Female Relative'

I'm not sure that my card will be suitable for the ProMarkers challenge, the colouring of the image is not as complex and detailed as I am sure the rest of the submissions are, however I felt the stamp would suit being coloured in simply or not at all.  Purely a personal preference, would love to know how you would have dealt with it!

Another busy day of work ahead for me, hope you all have a better day than me planned.

WOYWW

Good Morning,

Time for another snoop around each others crafting spaces.  This week I am showing off my mess in its full glory!  Julia at Stampin' Ground has started things off as usual with a glance at her workspace.

Had to take this picture last night as I am super busy at work right now, so was out the door at the crack of dawn.

You will see a card I am working on lying on the desk, I bought a new Penny Black stamp so as usual when I get a new stamp I want to make something with it as soon as possible.

Will hopefully have time for a snoop round the rest of the blogs tonight.

Snippet Playground Time

Good Morning,

Time to head over to the Snippet Playground for my turn on the swings! Di opened the playground with a fab card for a man, always a difficult one for us card makers.

My card this week was made using bits I had left over from playing with some news bits for my stash.

Now I know that Di has been dying to see my wedding invitations, so I decided to use the playground for the grand unveiling! (this is going to be such an anticlimax).

Ta Da!!!!!
Di has come up with the suggestion of my bloggy buddies coming along on the big day and using their trimmers to form an arch instead of swords!  I personally think she is just wanting to use up her snippets as confetti!

Hope you all like the invitations.

Less Is More - Week 57

Good Afternoon,

Hope you have had a nice weekend.  It was my futures Mother in Law's birthday on Friday so we had Jamie's family down to stay for the weekend.  We had a lovely weekend with them, but unfortunately this meant I wasn't able to get my LIM card made till this afternoon, although it gave me plenty of time to ponder over what I was going to do.  And as usual my card turned out nothing like I thought it would!

This weeks challenge is a colour and Chrissie & Mandi have chosen 'neutrals'. Not something I would normally use for making a card but here is the end result.

Have to admit it is not my favourite card I have ever made, but it is good to try something different and as the saying goes 'its the taking part that counts'.  The stamp is Fiskars 'Elegant Vines' but the colour of the ink hasn't shown up well in the picture.  It looks darker in 'real life'.

Away to see what everybody else came up with for this weeks challenge.

Gunnin'

Good Morning All,

One of Jamie's good friends 30th birthday is coming up and when I found this digistamp I knew it would be perfect for his card.  They spend many hours online with their xbox's gunnin' as they like to call it. I call it being a big kid! But hey whatever keeps him out of my hair while I escape to my crafting room can't be a bad thing!

Mother's Day

Good Morning,

Yesterday I was asked by a work colleague to make a Mother's Day card for her 80 year old Mother in Law.  Does anybody else get excited when they are asked to make a card? That little sense of pride kicks in that there is somebody else out there that likes what you make.  I also made a Christmas card for the same Mother in Law so I knew she liked flowers, so I decided to make that my main focal point.

Supplies Used:
Stamp - Free Vintage Digital Stamps
ProMarkers
Sizzix textured impressions folder (part of the dots and flowers set)
Ribbon & pearls from my stash
Crafters Companion patterned paper (came free with a magazine)

Challenges Entered:
Passion For Promarkers

I hope my work colleague likes the card, although I have the feeling she would be too polite to say otherwise!
