Less Is More - Use Scallops

Good Morning,

Time for another challenge over at Less Is More and this time we are to use Scallops.  I only have one scallop punch so it was fairly easy to know where my starting point was, just wasn't sure how it was going to end up.

Supplies Used
Stampin Up - Easy Events
ProMarkers
Martha Stewart Scallop Punch
Ribbon from my stash
A few beads left sitting on my desk from last weeks challenge

I have a nice lazy day planned for today, so will hopefully make it round everybody else's blogs.

Sieze the Birthday #11 Masculine

Good Afternoon,

Second post of the day for me, don't you just love Bank Holidays. You can see my previous post here.

I was lucky enough last week to receive 'Birthday Honours's' for this card in last weeks Seize the Birthday challenge, so thank you so much for choosing my card, I will wear my badge with pride!

Now onto this week's card, same sketch but the dreaded masculine card! I am so not very good at these, if I can't use pink, sparkle and flowers I am normally stumped! But today the card mojo seemed to be working and I am quite pleased with the end result.

Supplies Used:
Pink Petticoat - Woodgrain in Soft Truffle
Stampin Up - Best Dad Ever (Sentiment)
VersaMark
Wow Embossing Powder
CraftWork Cards - Candi
Dimensional Stickers

Must dash now though, I am going out to a charity race night tonight, so lots of preening and prepping to do.

Easter Chick

Good Morning,

When I first seen this week's challenge over at CAS-ual Fridays I thought I might have to give it a miss this time.  However about an hour later an idea popped into my head.

They have challenged us this week to make a Clean and Simple Easter project, but it can't be a card! I thought about making little baskets etc but knew that I wouldn't use them. In the end I decided on a bottle tag.

Supplies Used:
DigiStamp Boutique - Spring Chick
SDI Papers
ProMakers
Stampin Up - Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Stampin Up - Bakers Twine - Whisper White
Nestibilities
Dimensional Stickers

I am also going to enter this into the monthly challenge over at DigiStamp Boutique.

I hope you all have a nice Easter.

Bloomin' Marvellous

Good Evening,

This week's One Layer Wednesday, hosted by Heather at Bits & Pieces, has been a bit of a puzzler for me. The challenge was to use packaging for inspiration, however no matter how much I looked around me, nothing sprung to mind.  Until tonight when I have cheated a little bit.  The edging a book on my shelf gave my the much needed inspiration I needed.

Supplies Used:
Stampin Up - Bloomin Marvellous
Stampin Up - Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Chipped Sapphire, Worn Lipstick, Picked Raspbery & Dusty Concord
Twine from my stash

I am also entering this card into this week's Seize the Birthday challenge.  Thanks for the heads up Di.

Pattern Play Day 4 & 5

Good Afternoon,

Finally got caught up on my homework for the online Pattern Play classes.

So here is my card from Day 4, I was inspired by Kelly Rasmussen's card and used glitter on the stripy paper.

For Day 5's card I tried my hand at the paper weaving technique that was demonstrated.

Thanks to all the talented teachers for your videos, patterned paper is certainly not as scary as it was before I started the class.

Beads

Good Afternoon,

I made it into the craft room later than usual today, we had friends round for tea last night so it was a bit of a late night.

Now that I have finally made it here the first task was to get my Less Is More card made, and the challenge this week was to use 'Beads'.  I decided to stamp my butterfly and sentiment onto my new canvas from Stampin Up, it actually gives it a really nice, soft effect.

Supplies Used:
Stampin Up - Canvas Creations
Hero Arts/ Sizzix - Butterfly & Die Set
Stampin Up - Itty Bitty Banners & Framelits
ProMarkers
Beads from my stash
Dimensional Stickers

Got a few other bits and bobs to make in the craft room today, so off to have a play with some other bits and pieces.

Patterned Paper Class Day 3

Good Evening,

Don't worry you haven't missed a day in my cards for the Pattern Play Class hosted by Kristina Werner and Jennifer McGuire, I am just struggling to make a card for day 2.  But anyway onto my day 3 card.

Supplies Used:
S.E.I Bridgeport Paper
Stampin Up - Sentiment
Wow white embossing powder
VersaMark
Craftwork Cards Candi

This card is a total CASE of Kristina's card, however as soon as I watched the video I know exactly what paper I wanted to use to CASE her card.  I have had this SEI paper pack for a couple of years and I loved this paper but could never find a way of using it that I liked.

Patterned Paper Class Day 1

Good Morning,

I thought I would quickly share my homework from the latest class run my Kristina Werner and Jennifer McGuire on using patterned paper.  This is something I really struggle with and probably why I stick to my clean and simple cards with lots of white space but I thought I would try out something different.

Supplies Used:
My Mind's Eye - On the Bright Side
Stampin Up - Best Dad Ever - Sentiment
Stampin Up - Linen Thread

I am actually quite pleased with the result, for day one I thought I would stick with a simple layout, but you never know I might get more adventurous as the week goes on.

Muse Challenge #9

Good Evening,

Finally got round to some crafting this evening, I usually get to spend part of my lazy Sunday in my craft room, however my Sunday was spent creating something different.  For my recent 30th Birthday my wonderful parents gave me a Thai Cookery Class at the Nick Nairn cook school.  So instead of playing with inks and stamps I was whipping up a hot & sour soup, thai fishcakes, Chang Mai curry and Naan Bread.  It was a great day and learned so much!

Anyway back on today's Muse card.  This week's Muse is Marion Vagg and she has created a fabulous blue striped card, you can see it below my card.

My inspiration came from the blue stripes, I had been tidying up my ribbon drawer and had a ton of left over snippet bits of ribbon so used them for my stripes. The rest of my supplies were:
The Craft's Meow - Typically Teen
Stampin Up - Spritzer thing

Marion's Fab Card
We are back to more snow here today and the forecast is not looking good for tonight, so won't be venturing far tonight or tomorrow!

Extraterrestrial

Good Morning,

Today's card share is for this week's CASology challenge, which is Extraterrestrial!

Supplies Used:

Muse Challenge #8

Good Morning,

Another week and another Muse Card Challenge and this week's Muse card is by the very talented Therese Calvird.  For some reason Therese's card inspired me to create a totally different style of card than what I normally make.  But that is what is so great about challenges, getting to do something new and unexpected.

Supplies Used:
MME - Honeycake DP
Stampin Up - Fabulous Florets
Stampin Up - Sentiment
Pearls from my stash
Paper Piercing by my sewing machine
The edges of the paper was distressed using decorative scissors  however I should have a distress tool with me soon so it should make the job a bit easier.

Muse Card by Therese Calvird

The inspiration I took from Therese's card was the patterened paper, I knew I had something similar in my stash somewhere.  The colour of flowers is similar, however that is just where my card took me.

Good Afternoon,

The very talented Jackie Rockwell has had a great idea for a new challenge, Jackie has provided some free digi's to create a CAS card.  So this one is right up my street!

Jackie Rockwell - Free Digi's
ProMarkers
Stampin Up - Bakers Twine
Dimensional Stickers

If you enjoy using Digi's on your cards you should join in, even if you don't try it out, it is always fun to try something new!
